RAILWAY enthusiasts turned out in force for Rainhill Model Railway Club’s annual exhibition staged in Rainhill village hall

“We were very well pleased with the attendance,” said club spokesman Peter Hughes.

One of the layouts which created a lot of attention was the renamed West Bay layout, now known as West Bay to Disbury Town in tribute to late club member and St Helens man John Disbury.

“John was a long-serving club member and he worked on the West Bay ‘O’ layout for many years,” said Mr Hughes.

Rainhill Model Railway Club meets every Monday and Friday evening at the North West Museum of Road Transport in Hall Street, St Helens. New members are welcome, see www.rainhillmrc.org.uk
