THE UNISON double decker bus drove into St Helens this week in a recruitment drive to sign up new members.
The bus which was loaned by the St Helens Transport Museum was parked on Victoria Square.
As well as looking for new members union representatives were also highlighting their campaign for a pay deal for local government workers who according to their figures have had an 18 per cent cut in wages since 2011 due to a three year pay freeze.
With 1.3 members nationally and a local branch of more than 4,000 UNISON represents full-time and part-time staff who work in the public sector.
