A THIEF who stole hundreds of pounds worth of toys and sports jackets from shops while serving a suspended jail term could be sent to prison next month.
Anthony Winstanley, 40, took £437 of goods from Smyths toy store, on Ravenhead Retail Park, on November 3 last year He also stole three adidas jackets, worth £270, from JD Sports, Church Street, on December 17.
At the time of the offences he was serving a suspended prison sentence made by Liverpool Crown Court for affray and theft from a shop in April 2012.
Appearing before St Helens Magistrates’ Court, Winstanley, of Belverdere Avenue, Sutton Leach, admitted the theft and breach of his court order.
He was granted conditional bail – which states he must not enter any self service retail stores within St Helens town centre that are listed on a map given to him – and will be sentenced by Liverpool Crown Court on February 17.
