A MAN aged in his 40s died while working in a factory earlier this morning, police have confirmed.
Officers were called to the site on Suez Street in Earlestown by the ambulance service at around 11.15am.
Emergency services found the man had died after sustaining injuries while operating machinery.
The site and a small number of roads surrounding it have been cordoned off and a joint investigation has been launched by St Helens CID and the Health and Safety Executive.
The man’s family have been informed of his death and a police liaison officer has been appointed to provide support.
No one else was injured during the incident.
