DETECTIVES are hunting two men who threatened a shopkeeper with knives before escaping with a quantity of cash.
They struck just before 5.50pm at Discount Food and Wine on West End Road in Haydock yesterday (Wednesday December 4).
The shopkeeper was not hurt but left shaken by his ordeal.
The offenders are described as white with St Helens accents and were wearing hoodies with their faces covered.
Crime scene investigators attended the shop and CCTV from the surrounding area is being examined.
Detectives are asking anyone who was in the area at the time or who may have any information about two men acting suspiciously in the area to contact St Helens CID on 0151 777 6843 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
