WEATHER forcasters are predicting more heavy rain and strong winds for St Helens today (Wednesday) and into tomorrow.

With ground already saturated from months of torrential downpours there are fears that this could lead to renewed flooding in the area.

Earlier this week, a man had to be rescued from his car when the notorious stretch of road under Peasley Cross bridge near Saints' stadium flooded yet again.
