A MOTHER has described her joy after giving birth at 12.12pm on the 12/12/12 at Whiston Hospital.
Baby Charlotte McVey was born at the magical time, weighing 9lb 6oz.
Mum Emma Gerrard and dad James McVey from Walton, Liverpool, had spoken about the date prior to the birth and thought “wouldn’t it be amazing if she arrived then”.
But the exact timing of Charlotte’s arrival in the world came as a surprise to everyone.
Emma said: “In the morning we were joking about her being born at 12.12pm but never thought in a million years it would happen.
“I was too concerned about giving birth at the time and only discovered Charlotte had been born at 12 minutes past 12 when Jay told me soon after.
“I’m still in shock, she’s a superstar already.”
Julie Langton, consultant gynaecologist and obstetrician, said: “This is an amazing story. The staff were so excited when they realised the time of Charlotte’s birth.
“The Trust would like to offer our congratulations to Emma, Jay, and of course baby Charlotte, she is a truly special baby.”
The date 12/12/12 is the last time that three numbers will align to form the date this century.
Meanwhile, a St Helens baby was also born in the 12th hour of the 12/12/12, at the hospital.
Archie Morley arrived in the world at 12.55pm weighing 6lb 14oz.
First-time parents, Amy McNabb, 19, from Kirkby and Daniel Morley, 23 from Nutgrove, St Helens celebrated Archie’s birth without realising the significance of the date.
Amy said: “I didn’t realise the date at first, it’s a really special date for our very special boy.”
