Jail for church burglar

A MAN who burgled a church has been jailed for 12 weeks.

Anthony Yates, 34, targeted St Helens Baptist Church on Hall Street, stealing a laptop, music system, cash and a gold memorial coin.

He pleaded guilty to the offence on September 27.

Yates appearing at St Helens Magistrates Court, Yates, and his address was listed as HM Walton, Liverpool.
