ONE of the most exciting artists that the UK has to offer will be coming to the Citadel on Friday.

Chantel McGregor will be playing with her band at the venue on Friday, October 24 for a show that is not to be missed.

This year Chantel has picked up the ‘Guitarist of the Year’ gong in the British Blues Awards for the second successive year after 2013 saw her become the first female to win the title.

An extraordinary musician, Chantel passed her first rock school exam at age eight.

By 14, her talent saw her marked out as a prodigy but she was still overlooked by major labels as her unique, hard-driving approach to the guitar failed to conform to the conventions set out by the music industry for female artists.

Undeterred, she enrolled at the Leeds College of Music and became the first student in the College’s history to achieve a 100 per cent pass mark.

Since graduating with a first class honours degree in popular music, Chantel has quickly made a name for herself as a stunning professional blues musician.

Her guitar playing is full of grace, poise, fluidity and passion as she brings a fresh approach to blues-rock music.

A regular winner at the British Blues Awards, Chantel’s stock continues to rise and she tours extensively all over Europe.

The Citadel is offering a wonderful opportunity to see this talented young female musician up close at an intimate and exhilarating gig.

Tickets for the show are £13 in advance and £15 on the night, with doors open from 7.30pm.
