It may have been more than 40 years since he was revelling in his heyday, but widely acclaimed rock ‘n’ roll hero Joe Brown can still sell out a show.

In the build-up to his new album, The Ukulele Album Deluxe Edition, Joe will play a sell-out show at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool, bringing a taste of his skill for the humble instrument to the heart of the Mersey music scene.

The album, which celebrates the music star’s long-time affinity with the classic ukulele, features the instrument on every track, given its full weight alongside raunchy electric and acoustic guitars, as well as mandolins, banjos, lap steel and slide guitars, and ‘surprises galore’.

The show is part of a major 40-date UK tour which will run until December 15 and see Joe perform in over 32 different towns up and down the country.

Joe Brown has spanned music divides and embraced all aspects of entertainment throughout his career – TV, radio, film musicals and concerts. His song I’ll See You In My Dreams is one of the most frequently played ukulele songs and was recently featured worldwide in the hit TV series CSI.

Having played the ukulele since his teen years, Joe has his own signature series of them and used one to close the George Harrison Tribute concert in 2009 with a performance of I’ll See You In My Dreams.

  • The Ukulele Deluxe Album Edition will be released on October 21.
