HELLO once more lovers of live music, another weekend looms and another 'shedful' of live music is happening again.
The Junction Inn is holding its annual Ukelele Weekend, running Saturday from 2pm until 9pm, and continuing on Sunday from 12.30pm onwards.
I think I'm right in saying that this is the first time a weekend dedicated to one of the smallest and easiest instruments to learn, has been held within our town boundaries.
The Junction has been presenting uke nights, with the wonderful Professor Frank hosting, for quite sometime now and they have become very popular and owner of the Junction, Paul Draper, has decided to expand and host a full uke weekend of artists and local uke groups.
The Junction ukelele group, The Ormskirk ukuelele group, and the Wigan ukelele group, will be performing throughout t Sunday while Saturday is dedicated to professional uke artisits, Phil Doleman and Chonkinfeckle.
So if you're wondering what the fuss is all about get down to the Junction on Saturday and Sunday to find out.
It's one week to go to the outdoor Brookfest live music festival at Blackbrook rugby club and it looks to be heading for a sell out.
A line up will be headlined by Guns and Roses tribute Guns or Roses. Wigan favourites Bigfoot featuring the incomparable Sam Miller, are also on the bill for a day of brilliant live music on Saturday, August 22, hopefully in the sun.
The day will be running all day until 11pm at the club on Boardmans Lane.
