HI FOLKS, Simon T back again with all the gigs and news of what’s happening out there "Live in Glasstown".
My troops in the field have, as usual, been bringing back some good reports that all is well and good last weekend on our local live music scene. Plenty of good music and some good crowds coming out to see our local bands and open mic/jam nights that were happening last weekend. It's great news to hear we're getting people supporting our local musicians and away from the goggle box on a Friday and Saturday night and bringing a great atmosphere to the venues in and around the borough. Speaking of venues...
There are some great gigs to look forward to coming up in the not too distant future. This coming Friday at the Zoo Bar Jeramiah Farrari return with their own brand of ska, rock and punk. Last time the band played the Zoo Bar the place was packed and the reports I had back from the gig were outstanding. Paul Griffiths has already booked them to headline the Zoo Bar for the Westfield Street Festival in June, so if you like your music with a bit of a Reggae and ska tinge get your boots on and moonstomp down to this one on Friday at the Zoo Bar.
Also coming up in the not too distant future next Friday (February 27) Ac/Dc tribute band Ace/Dc will be appearing at the Rendezvous bar. Last time they were at the Rendezvous the lads rocked the place with such classics as "Shoot to thrill", "Highway to hell, "you shook me all night long" and many other classics from the Ac/Dc back catalogue. A great, tight band and well worth seeing if your choice of rock falls into the Ac/Dc catagory and also they have the tallest Angus Young I've ever seen! Ace /Dc will be at the Rendezvous a week on Friday, Febuary 27.
That's all to come in the not too distant future but for now here's this weeks gig guide.
