Railways to Beechams covered in history group meetings
OVER the next few weeks there will be a series of history group meetings.
On Tuesday, January 26 Pauline Hurst will be speaking about the Beecham family at the next meeting of the Rainhill Civic Society at Rainhill Millennium Centre on View Road.
Marion White and Sid Saunders will be talking about 100 years of schooling in Sutton at Queen's Park Local History Group at 7pm on Monday, February 8 at the Sprayhurst Club on Boundary Road.
Also on February 8 Derek Houghton will be the guest speaker at Rainhill Railway and Heritage Society at Rainhill Village Hall from 7.30pm. He will present a film on the local celebrations and the Great Locomotive Cavalcade of 1980.
