SINCE the retreat centre at Loyola Hall closed in Spring 2014, Rainhill residents have been wondering what is to become of this historic building set in beautiful grounds.

The hall and surroundings are a peaceful haven even though situated within a few hundred yards of the busy junction 7 of the M62.

Many visitors who have been inside the sandstone walls will not forget the sweeping lawns, mature trees and the wonderful flower meadows where butterflies, birds and other wild creatures flourish.

Concerned local people are looking for an opportunity to preserve the hall, which is a listed building, and its surroundings for future generations and welcome all who are interested to a public meeting on Tuesday, September 1 at 7.30pm at St Ann's Centre on View Road.
