A delighted Peter Harvey contacted me to say: “Your article about the Shacklady family struck gold. A reader from St Helens, told someone who lives in Liverpool, who contacted the family who now live in North Wales. They contacted you for a telephone number and then were able to talk to me. I am really pleased that they have done so because they are the only ones who can give me the family story.

“We are nearly at our target of 100 families reached. Still there must be many more who had relatives in the 3,250 men who enlisted or were transferred into The 11th South Lancs. Regiment. We will help anyone find their relatives if they can give us a name and possible address in 1911.”
