“I believe I drove through it yesterday as I think it’s the Haydock Junction island on the A 580” said Geoff correctly.
The image was sent to me by Nick who observed: “Reading in the Star that £3.5 million is to be spent to improve congestion at this junction, here are two photos of Haydock Island I took in 1968 which may be of interest. There's not a single vehicle on the M6 bridge and a group of hitchhikers are waiting for a lift up the M6 north.
