THE man known as Purple Aki has been released from Walton prison but he has been banned from entering St Helens under a court order.

Akinwale Arobieke, 45 - who was jailed nearly three years ago for harassing young sportsmen - has been made the subject of a temporary Sexual Offences Prevention Order.

Arobieke - universally known as Purple Aki in St Helens and neighbouring towns - has been released from jail after serving almost half the term of a six sentence imposed in December 2003.

He was jailed after pleading guilty to 15 counts of harassment and a charge of intimidating a witness.

Most often the youngsters would be involved with gyms, colleges, and rugby league clubs, both professional and amateur, in St Helens and other rugby league heartlands in the North West.

The order, secured by police today at Liverpool Magistrates' Court also bans Aki - about 6ft 2ins tall and powerfully built - from touching, feeling or measuring the muscles of another person.

It also states he must not request anyone to carry out squat exercises in any public place or private place (which the public have access).

He cannot enter St Helens or leave the Merseyside Police area without police permission.
