Wicked For Good?
Wicked. An original Broadway Musical presented in 2003 by Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth came to cinemas starring Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo who displayed amazing vocals, genius acting and surrounded with an all-round amazing cast.
The first part of Wicked delivered itself in cinemas on the 22nd of November in 2024 and came back for its sequel, Wicked for Good on the 21st November 2025.
Wicked and Wicked For Good were both filmed together, yet released at different times. As a result, making many fans waiting in anticipation for the final ending. When tickets went on sale, they sold quickly, as quick as Elphaba on her broom.
I myself watched the first part and eagerly awaited part 2; we booked tickets for the 28th November and the excitement heading into the cinema was intense. Exhilaration packed the air as everyone took to their seats.
The adverts seemed to last an eternity but suddenly the first sound of the song “Thank Goodness” echoed throughout the room. I knew then that the magic was about to begin.
From the scenery, to costumes. Acting, to the songs as well as the incredible vocals, I was spellbound. My eyes were fixated to the screen. My mum, dad and friend all felt the same and at some points during the film, I really felt like I was holding my breath waiting for what was to follow.
From then I knew that waiting for part 2 had definitely been worth it.
Wicked For Good was an emotional rollercoaster, from the first ever moment it started to the very end. The main scene that made tears flush down my face was definitely when Glinda and Elphaba have their heads on the door which separates them in their last moments together.
After, I then managed to compose myself only for them to sing “For Good”. The whole cinema was in tears. At the end of the film, everyone was gobsmacked. As the first pair of hands clapped, the cinema’s atmosphere flooded with noise of appreciation
What a movie, what a cast, what a memory. A memory that will stay with me “For Good”.
