Artificial Intelligence: How it can be used society
Artificial Intelligence (better known as AI) is one of the most commonly used tools today.
AI generated content is common even in search engines you may use every day without realising it.
Despite how useful it may seem, many people are actually unaware that AI has a significant negative impact on the environment.
AI is used frequently to generate images for people, but did you know that this actually consumes a massive amount of energy and water in data centers to do? This drives up carbon emissions and strains resources.
As AI demands are skyrocketing, more and more energy and water gets wasted per every use.
Although, AI can also offer a lot of ways to manage environmental damage, which causes a balance between bad and good.
Many people claim that AI isn’t useful, and whilst creating random images may not be it’s best feature, certain individuals may use AI to assist their daily lives.
Personal assistants created by AI are of use to anyone, and AI generated content can be used not just to create silly pictures but important pieces of information.
Despite the cheating on homework or the unsustainable practices AI follows, the good can battle the bad aspects, as AI has sustainable solutions, powering smart grids which optimise and monitor efficiency and waste.
Another valuable use is in healthcare, as artificial intelligence aids operations, diagnostics, treatment, drug discovery and analysing complex data which overall improves efficiency!
Despite its disadvantages, AI can help navigate complex tasks in all different situations, and can improve our lives all around.
