LOCAL community organisations in Leigh which are making a difference to the community they live in can apply for funding under the council “The Deal” scheme.
Cllr Chris Ready speaking at tonight's Wigan's full council meeting said that in the face of cuts, new ways of working had to be found.
Wigan Council is running The Deal in Action programme, which is an informal agreement between the council and everyone who lives or works in Wigan to create a better borough.
Funding will be available for communities to get what they need.
Cllr Ready said: “Part of The Deal is funding.
“We are offering support to groups who want to apply for funding.”
The numbers who have “signed” The Deal are said to have increased “leaps and bounds”.
