A MAN charged with rape has appeared before a court.
Callum Hewitson, 24, is charged with five counts of raping a woman in St Helens.
Hewitson is accused of committing the sexual offences in St Helens between 2019 and 2023.
The defendant has also been charged with causing criminal damage to a property in St Helens in October 2024.

Hewitson, of Equitable Street, Oldham, appeared before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Monday, April 1.
District judge Boswell sent the case to Liverpool Crown Court, where Hewitson is next due to appear for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
This is scheduled to take place on Monday, April 29.
The defendant has been remanded into custody until then.
