A MAN who had a cut-throat folding razor in his possession has been handed a suspended sentence by a court.
Roody Smith had previously been found guilty of a charge of possession of a knife blade or sharp-pointed article in a public place. he had pleaded not guilty to the charge.
Smith, of Penlake Lane, Sutton, appeared before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court for sentencing on Monday, April 7.
He was convicted in January this year of having, on June 7, 2023, in a public place on Station Road, St Helens, an article which had a blade or was sharply pointed, namely a 'cut-throat' folding razor.

District judge Paul Healey gave Smith, 20, a prison sentence of 16 weeks, suspended for 12 months.
Court records state the custodial sentence was suspended because Smith had "no previous convictions" and also due to "the age of the defendant" and that there is a "real prospect" of him "working with probation".
The 20-year-old must do up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity and carry out unpaid work for120 hours over the next 12 months.
He was also made to pay costs to the Crown Prosecution Service of £650 and a surcharge of £154.
