A SAFETY review is being carried out at Carr Mill Dam following the tragic death of 15-year-old Erin Madden last week.
Last Thursday afternoon, June 1, a huge search operation at Carr Mill Dam sadly led to the recovery of a body from the water.

It was later confirmed that 15-year-old Erin Madden, a pupil at Outwood Academy in Haydock, had died.
The news has devastated the family and friends of Erin, and caused shock among the wider community, with masses of tributes paid to the much-loved teenager.
Following the tragedy, there have been some calls in the community for increased safety warnings.
The Canal & River Trust confirmed a review was being carried out following Erin's tragic death.
Interim regional director Jon Horsfall: said “We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragic death and we offer our sincere condolences to the family and friends.
"The Trust’s safety team is reviewing the circumstances to establish what can be learned from this tragedy and determine the next steps.”
An inquest will be held to determine the circumstances of Erin's death.
