A MAN has been charged with ABH and assault after police were called to an address.

Officers attended Cole Avenue, Newton-le-Willows, on Saturday evening, January 14, at around 8.45pm.

A 30-year-old man was arrested by officers. 

Mark Bond, of Whitebeam Close, Runcorn, has since been charged with assault by beating and assault causing actual bodily harm.

Bond, 30, has been remanded in custody to appear in court today, Monday.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We were called to a property on Cole Avenue, in St Helens, at around 8.45pm on Saturday, January 14, following a report of an assault.

"We arrested and charged a man with assault by beating and assault occasioning them actual bodily harm.

"Mark Bond, 30, of Whitebeam Close, Runcorn, has been remanded in custody and due to appear at Merseyside Domestic Violence Remand Court today (Monday, January 16)."
