POLICE have seized a stolen car on false registration plates which was seen in St Helens.

Traffic police recovered the vehicle for forensic investigations after it was spotted by patrols in the town in the early hours of Monday, January 16.

In a statement, Merseyside Roads Policing Unit said: "Our eagle-eyed patrol in St Helens spotted this Ford that didn't look quite right.

"After a closer look it turned out to be a stolen vehicle on false plates. Recovered for #CSI."
