A MAN has been charged in connection with an attempted robbery at Sherdley Park in which a woman was grabbed from behind and an attempt was made to pull her into nearby woodland.
Detective investigating the incident at the park on Friday, May 20 arrested a man from St Helens on Monday.
A 35-year-old woman was running near to the golf driving range at about 1.45pm when a man grabbed her from behind and tried to pull her into nearby woodland.

The woman resisted and it was reported that when he spotted another woman walking nearby he released the woman and demanded money. She told him she had no money and he walked off towards the golf club.
A 21-year-old man has since been charged with attempted robbery in connection with the incident.
Keenan Fairclough, of Phoenix Brow, St Helens, was due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistartes' Court on the charge today, Wednesday, May 25.
