POLICE have issued a warning after two estates have been targeted in a spate of burglaries and attempted thefts.
Officers said they have received reports of recent incidents in two parts of Newton-le-Willows.
In the Ashton Road area there has been a stint of burglaries of sheds.
Police are asking residents to ensure that all their valuables are secured and all premises are locked.

Meanwhile, on the Scarborough Drive estate in Earlestown police say there have been reports of house and car doors being tried in the early hours of the morning.
Officers say the offenders are described as "two young males dressed in black".
Police are asking residents to ensure that all their valuables are secured and all properties and vehicles are locked.
In a Facebook post, St Helens Police added: "We are aware and investigating these issues, if you see anything suspicious please do report it."
