A CONVICTED shoplifter remains banned from a host of retail chain shops in St Helens.

Police have issued a reminder on Tuesday, February 23 that Lee Stuart, of no fixed address, is banned from entering premises in the borough owned by or a subsidiary of Co-Operative, McColls, Tesco or Asda.

Stuart, now 31, was convicted in August 2017 for a shoplifting offence at the Co-Operative on West End Road, Haydock.

He was subsequently issued with a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) which remains valid for five years, until September 19, 2022.

In the post, St Helens Police said: "If you have any dealings with this male that would constitute a breach of his criminal behaviour order, please report them to Merseyside Police."

Under the terms of the CBO, Stuart must not:

  • Within the borough of St Helens enter any store owned by or a subsidiary of the following

companies/businesses/stores:

Co Op, McColls, Tesco or Asda.

  • Within the borough of St Helens enter any store owned by or a subsidiary of the following

companies/businesses/stores: Should it transpire that any of the below businesses come under new

ownership or change the name of the business. It is the business addresses recorded below that should be

taken into account for the purpose of this prohibition.

save to seek the permission of the owner/manager/staff member/other authorised person acting on behalf of

that store. For the purpose of this order a Self Service Store is to include all stores in which a customer would

or could select their own goods and then be required to pay for them at a point of payment whether staffed or

self-service.

  • Remain in any self -service or business premises within the borough of St Helens when asked to leave by

the premises owner/manager/staff member/other authorised person acting on behalf of that store. For the

purpose of this order, a Self-Service Store is to include all stores in which a customer would or could select

their own goods and then be required to pay for them at a point of payment whether staffed or self-service.

  • Within the borough of St Helens engage in conduct causing or likely to cause harassment alarm or distress

to any person.
