A MAN from Prescot has been charged with actual bodily harm after a police officer was taken to hospital with facial injuries following an alleged assault.
An officer was hospitalised after being reportedly assaulted while attempting to detain a suspect in Huyton.
Officers saw a Ford Fiesta in Liverpool Road, Huyton which they say showed no insurance.
The vehicle allegedly failed to stop and was located a short time later on Calgarth Road.

The suspected driver was detained on suspicion of drink driving and in doing so, reportedly assaulted an officer, who was taken to hospital with facial injuries.
Jordan Boardman of Sutherland Road, Prescot has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm; fail to stop; drink driving; and driving without insurance.
Boardman, 28, was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court this morning, Tuesday, February 23.
