POLICE say they detained a 14-year-old boy after they seized a mountain bike and a screwdriver in Whiston.
Targeted officers on patrol in Whiston on Monday evening (September 28) detained a teenage boy following an incident on Old Colliery Road.
Shortly after 6pm officers attempted to speak to the rider of a mountain bike who had made off from them over Stadt Moers Park. After abandoning the bike, a boy was found hiding a short distance away.

A screwdriver was found by officers nearby following a search.
Officers also later searched a nearby property as part of the investigation.
A 14-year-old boy was detained by police officers.
