POLICE have charged a man following an incident in which there were reports of someone seen with a weapon.

Officers were called to Parr Stocks Road, Parr at 4.45pm on Thursday, November 7 to reports of “concern for the safety of a man”.

Roads close to the Chop Shop barbers were sealed off amid reports a man had been seen with a weapon.

A 29-year-old suspect was arrested in connection with the incident.

Police have confirmed they have since charged a 29-year-old man with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.

Lee Hargreaves, of Pennine Drive, Parr has been charged and remanded into custody and will appear before Liverpool Crown Court next month.

A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said: "We have charged a man in connection with an incident in St Helens on Thursday, November 7.

"Officers were called to Parr Stocks Road at around 4.45pm, to reports of concern for the safety of a man.

"Twenty-nine-year-old Lee Hargreaves of Pennine Drive, St Helens has been charged with possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear of violence."

"He has been remanded in custody to next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday, December 9."
