BURGLARS made off with cash and damaged the front entrance of a cafe in Whiston during a night-time break-in.
The offenders broke into the Brunch bistro premises on Greenes Road between 9.30pm on Friday (April 20) and 8am on Saturday 21.
Police say a till containing a quantity of cash was stolen and damage was caused to the front entrance and to the shutters.
Officers say CCTV, witness and forensic enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and locate those responsible.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman said the break-in is currently "not being treated as linked" with a burglary at the Papa's Pizza restaurant on Molyneux Drive on the same night but the investigation is still ongoing.
Anyone with information on the break-in is asked to contact Merseyside Police son 101 quoting incident reference 18200082318 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
