A SEVENTY-NINE-YEAR-OLD man charged with causing serious injury by careless driving after a crash involving a car and a motorbike.
The Star reported that a motorcyclist had been taken to hospital after a collision with a car on Prescot Road, on September 11, last year, near to West Park Road.
Police confirmed the rider, a man in his 20s, had suffered a leg injury as a result of the crash, which involved a Nissan Juke car.
Eric Roberts, of Edgeworth Street, Sutton, has since been charged with causing serious injury by careless driving in connection with the collision.
A Merseyside Police spokeswoman confirmed the charge related to a "serious injury RTC (road traffic collision) on Prescot Road/West Park Road involving a Nisan Juke and a motorbike".

Roberts, 79, appeared before Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates' Court on Thursday, April 25.
Before magistrates, the 79-year-old indicated a guilty plea to the charge during the hearing.
The case was adjourned for a pre-sentence report to be prepared.
Roberts was granted unconditional bail and is due to appear back at the magistrates' court for sentencing on Wednesday, May 22.
