I SPENT an hour or so at the new pop-up market in St Helens on Saturday afternoon.
I have to say I was really impressed – a great range of stalls, well set out and well organised. There was a good turn-out from shoppers too despite the rain.
Yes, it was bit pricey but they are not selling everyday goods – the products are a bit different and for people looking to buy a treat.
The benefit of this is that it can bring more people into the town centre - those from St Helens who might be out of the habit or people from nearby towns.
For instance, we’d sometimes travel to Ormskirk on a Saturday for the market, but now this is in the diary we’ll be making it a regular date.
Well done - a positive for St Helens.
