THE ‘adjustment’ of photos caused great concern in the media when Princess Kate admitted to well-intentioned but unnecessary changes to a family photo - a bit of a minor stuff-up really.
And now we read (in national news) of ill-intentioned, offensive and unnecessary changes to school class photos.
The idea of two versions of a class photo so that ‘complex needs pupils’ are removed is repugnant and probably illegal.
Perhaps a photo could remove all the bullies, all those of a different colour, religion or parental occupation, leaving only an empty set of seats...
I am sure there are photos from Stephen Hawking’s youth showing him standing up - but the photos of him in a wheelchair represent how he spent most of his life.
A disability should not stop anyone from succeeding.
