SO the local council want to close valuable community assets while at the same time spending tens of thousands of pounds purchasing bollards to create cycle lanes throughout the borough.

Cycle lanes which, I might add, receive only minimal use from the cycling community...... and I speak as one.

Has the council costed out the savings on library closures against these cycle lane provisions and, if so, have they published these figures?

Let’s be honest, this decision is primarily targeted at libraries in outlying areas of St Helens with non-Labour local representation.

Labour councillors should be ashamed of themselves for decisions that will affect members of these communities who most benefit from these libraries eg. children, the elderly and those from lower income groups.
