WITH reference to your article and the letter in the star Thursday, January 6, 2022 regarding the council’s policy of dogs to be on a short lead in St Helens Cemetery.

This will not make a lot of difference at all.

It is treated as a dog park.

We have seen it all the time.

The council do not have the manpower to patrol early morning (before the owners go to work) and after 4pm when they come home from work.

They should not be allowed to enter at all.

If someone wishes to take a pet to a loved one’s grave, there should be a system where they have to book a slot beforehand.

We have seen a lot of dogs in there, roaming around on those very long, long leads.

When will the council take note of this problem?
