THERE was an excellent attendance of rugby league-minded folk at Saints’ Heritage Society’s Annual Programme and Memorabilia Fair on Saturday, November 20, fully revived after the recent Covid impasse, at the Totally Wicked Stadium. The upshot? A most enjoyable occasion with a good rugby league vibe.

Amongst the stall holders present was Saints’ fan Keith Melling, who sold off items that once festooned his barber’s shop in Spray Street, St Helens. Keith’s stall realised a brilliant total of £700 for the Steve Prescott Foundation.

I would like to thank everyone who made the day such an unqualified success: the St Helens club for their excellent organisation on what was such a busy day at the stadium; the stall holders and the following individuals: Linda Garvey, Ian Coutts, Bill Bates, Adrian Lawrenson and Josh Taylor. Thanks also to Dave Dooley, Paul Cunliffe, Geoff Lee and Jamie Allen [St Helens RFC] and the St Helens Star for their publicity.

It is extremely important to keep these events running. It helps to keep the proud heritage of our great game alive.
