I READ that the council has put in plans to widen paths in Sherdley Park.
That’s welcome news, perhaps.
But much, much more work needs doing on this park to make it the attraction it should be.
Where was the reinvestment after Pet’s Corner closed for example.
The park should be a jewel in the crown of St Helens but sadly it is not.
I (like others I know) quite often take the drive beyond Sherdley into Widnes to enjoy their beautiful Victoria Park, which is blessed with the range of facilities Sherdley lacks and always seems packed with families.
Oh for some imagination and investment. Please let’s look to do something and make this park one of the best in the North West.
Park lover, Eccleston
