I MANAGED a trip out of town to Manchester on Saturday to catch up with some mates from different parts of the country.
We visited a place called Hatch, a food, drink and retail destination under the Mancunian Way, off Oxford Road.
I’m told it’s similar to the box park in Shoreditch, London, with a lot of the spaces created by shipping containers.
Might sound a bit odd, but it was really cool and had a great vibe.
Would something like this work in St Helens town centre – perhaps on the land where the demolished multi-storey car park once was?
It could even be some kind of temporary pop up venue to run through autumn and December as a kind of Christmas market?
Just throwing it out there as I think we need to start thinking outside the box more.
