I’m am writing to inform you about the condition of Bankes Park, Billinge tennis courts.
In my opinion they are in need of repair.
I am a keen tennis player and have lessons on a Saturday, but in between I love to practise.
They are very easy to get to as I only have to walk half a mile, however when I start to play the potholes and uneven surface make me lose balance and the balls bounce off in different directions.
In my previous visits I have seen that the park has been refurbished meaning the ground is a lot softer and safer for users (children) but on the other hand the tennis courts are completely different.
Many more people would be playing on them if they were refurbished.
This would decrease the rates of obesity as St Helens Council say “more needs to be done” as it is a ‘major health concern’.
This can be done by making exercise facilities safer and easier to use.
