WHY does the council appear to be throwing good money after bad trying to revitalise the town centre?

Having two retail parks close by and taking into account the changes in the way consumers shop, the town centre is bound to decline.
It is now time for radical thinking?

I suggest reduce the town centre in size and use the resulting brownfield sites for residential properties.

This would not only improve the area, but also reduce the need to build on the green belt.

This option has been taken up in Rochdale, let’s be innovative here.
