I WAS disappointed to see a group of teenagers hanging around on the Victoria Square war memorial on one evening this week.
Do they not appreciate how disrespectful it is to sprawl around on the monument that is dedicated to our fallen soldiers?
Does it come down to education?
I hope – as we approach the 100th anniversary of the Armistice – that these youngsters may watch a news report, read a newspaper or even see something on social media that makes the penny drop.
Maybe they will then realise the debt we owe to those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
