WITH regards to a recent, published letter about the dogs in Taylor Park, I felt incensed and concerned enough to respond about the comments made regarding the behaviour of the dogs and primarily their owners!

I don’t have a dog, but most mornings I sit with the said owners and their dogs at the cafe in the park.

And what a lovely, considerate and welcoming group of people that they are. I am recovering from a year’s worth of treatment from breast cancer.
Sitting, chatting with the owners and stroking their dogs has had a huge benefit to me and my health.

They are hugely responsible and attentive; watching their dogs; clearing up after them.

As with most things in life, there is good and bad everywhere.

Perhaps other owners in the park aren’t as diligent, like some parents aren’t with their children on the swings and grass areas.

But don’t have a go about a great group of people, who take their dogs behaviour seriously as well as the welfare of the park.

Anyway, what a sad world it would be, if dogs weren’t allowed access to this beautiful park of ours.
