MAYBE Taylor Park should be renamed Dog Park, I’ve never seen so many dogs running loose, with owners preoccupied chatting or just wandering after their pet.

The once-attractive little cafe was more like a local dog show, with all the available outside space crowded with more dogs than people (17 dogs and nine people, to be precise).

I decided to pass on my coffee, having recently been slobbered on by somebody’s darling, while they chatted at the next table.

Notice was only taken when the large animal also slobbered on the owner’s friend’s leg.

It’s not pleasant having someone else’s dog lusting after your carrot cake, either.

Yes, I know people are allowed to have pets, but it needn’t be at the expense of other people’s comfort.

If all the dogs were kept on a lead, things would be a lot more pleasant.

If there were a lot less of them, I for one would be happier.
