IN response to the article in the Star relating to the so called improvements at Windle Island.

Most people are fully aware that the expenditure of £7,000,000 was granted mainly to improve the future flow of traffic both to and from the Liverpool Super Docks.

This is to feed the many warehouses that are springing up like mushrooms along the East Lancs corridor.

In the article there was no mention regarding a solution to the problem that exists at the crossover from Bleak Hill Rd on to Rainford Road.

It does however propose the reintroduction of two lanes with the left hand lane going to St Helens and the right hand lane going to Eccleston via Bleak Hill Road.

The reintroduction of these two lanes will have little or no effect in solving the problem.

If the highways department continue to ignore this problem then I feel that the time has now come for adequate funding to be provided to employ a firm of experts in this field.
