ON Saturday, September 1, I inadvertently left my purse on a seat at the St Helens Bus station, I was waiting to catch the No34A bus, and when I got home I received a telephone call to say that my purse had been handed to a bus driver by a lady.
I immediately went back to the St Helens bus depot and retrieved my purse and thankfully nothing had been taken from it.
I asked if they had the name of the lady or the driver but unfortunately they didn’t. You have no idea how grateful I was that it had been handed in.
We unfortunately live in a “me myself and I” society and it is heartening to think there are still some honest people around in our little part of the world.
I consider myself to be a very lucky 85-year-old pensioner who cannot thank the lady or the bus driver enough for their honesty.
