I FULLY understand that St Helens Council wish to improve our road network and I back road improvement schemes.

However, I really cannot believe that two major junction improvements, namely Windle Island and Elton Head Road roundabout are being conducted at the same time.

This effectively means that both of the main routes to Liverpool from St Helens are blocked and this will cause long delays to those who need to commute to Liverpool, particularly those who work there and travel at rush hour.

Once the schools return next week I can foresee even more congestion and chaos which will continue well into next year.

Surely the council should have completed one of these projects before embarking on the other?

With these projects and the recent train timetabling and station closures it is not a happy time for those who need to get to Liverpool each day.
