PILKINGTON FC Reserves will visit Cuddington A in the semi finals of the Northern Cup on Monday, May 7, kick-off 2pm.

They do so after dashing the hopes of Ecclesfield FC in a rare all-St Helens affair at this stage of a prestigious north west competition.

The last-eight clash, described as a credit to both teams for its attractive attacking football, went Pilks’ way 4-1 but was a closer contest than the scoreline would suggest.

Pilks, who knocked out another St Helens team, Rainford United, in the last 16 will go on to face a Cuddington side that came back from 3-0 down against Styal FC to force extra-time before sealing their- quarter-final triumph 8-7 on penalties.

Ecclesfield have their own semi-final to play in the Wigan and District League next week.
