RAINFORD racked up another successful double weekend with the 1sts winning at Hightown and the seconds making it four out of four wins at home to Spring View.

Paul Farrar again started well after Rainford were asked to bat at Sandy Lane, eventually falling for a well-made 55 before Anthony Reid continued the good work. The young Australian batted superbly until running himself out on 99.

By then Rainford were well on their way to declaring on 221 for 5.

Dan Houghton again did the early damage finishing with 4 for 27 and the in-form Andy Davies (5 for 55) spun his way through the Hightown middle order as they were dismissed for 130.

Mark Brook’s second team marched on at the Jubilee Recreation Ground dismissing Spring View for 129. Andrew Harrison (6 for 25) and Ehren Agarwal (3 for 45) were the main destroyers.

After a faltering start to the reply the Rainford middle order kicked in with Agarwal (27) Brook (30) Dan Harrison (33) and Phil Curran (24no) ensuring the win by five wickets.
